Bwanda Tembo Safari Camp is located in the north-western region of Uganda. It’s situated about 6km from Tangi gate entering Murchison Falls National Park. Bwana Tembo is an exclusive safari camp located just near to Murchison Falls National Park.

The name “Bwana Tembo” means “Sir Elephant” or “Master Elephant”. Various herds of elephants visited the location during construction, leading to the camp’s naming. Until now, these majestic animals have primarily visited the premises at night and departed early in the morning.

Bwana Tembo Lodge proposes a breath-taking views of the great park. There are variety of birds frequently spotted on the camp’s premises and it’s renowned for its mouth-watering Italian cuisine that leaves tourists wanting more.

The camp offers services of best quality at reasonable prices. It’s an eco-friendly, with solar power systems working 24 hours a day. It features six self-contained cottages and four spacious elevated safari tents. The staff are friendly and often share their park experiences with guests.

The camp is a concoction of mid-range prices with the best quality services. The fact being that it is owned and managed by Italians, yes what could you expect, of course, Italian delicacies!! The fresh homemade Italian cuisine is prepared to the highest standards and is mouth-wateringly good. The chefs are all trained by mamma Nicoletta who is sometimes present to supervise meal preparations and give the final touches to the great three-course menu served. From time to time she will also do some cooking herself and the dishes will have that something special that only she can give.

The camp, sprawled just a kilometer from the White Nile, is comprised of both cottages and safari tents to suit the needs of a diverse clientele. All accommodation types are self-contained with flushing toilets, hand basins, and showers with hot and cold running water. Lights are set up inside and outside of the accommodations and each cottage or tent has its own veranda. The camp is entirely eco-friendly, with solar power systems ensuring that all accommodations have light throughout the day and night.

Rooms at Bwana Tembo Safari Camp

Safari camp features cottages and safari tents raised at on magnificent platforms which is good for spectacular nature views.

All accommodation rooms are self-contained decorated with en-suite facilities of the Italian stylized arrases. All rooms have access to electricity and hot water at any time during the day and night.

Every room has amenities include balcony/deck, private bathroom, fan, mosquito nets, linen, safe, hot showers, smoking rooms, and daily housekeeping.

Cottage

A simple, well-designed, and cozy room with a private bathroom containing hot water is always available for showering. All cottages contain a fan that can be operated at the guest’s discretion. A huge mosquito net encircles the beds, and in every restroom there is a large container of safe drinking water. The water supply has been thoroughly purified and is completely secure.

Safari Tent

The safari tents are custom-made 4×4 meter tents, each of the tent has a private bathroom with hot water, a sink, a flush toilet, and a light. The tents are built on a raised wooden terrace that is ideal for nature viewing and sundowners. Every tent was made with a thatched roof for additional sun and rain protection.

A 1-night stay in a cottage at Bwana Tembo Safari Camp costs US$ 67 per person, per night. Check-in time is between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm while checkout time is 10:00 am.

An extra bed can be provided in the rooms upon request. For children aged 4-12, it costs $50 per night per child. A cot can also be provided for children aged 0-3. This is a complimentary offer.

Dining at Bwana Tembo Safari Camp

Bwana Tembo is an Italian managed camp, this makes it possible for Italian cuisines which are mainly prepared. Standardized fresh, homemade Italian food is prepared which is more delicious.

The best pasta and wine you could taste in Uganda are found here. All the chefs are well-trained and experienced. The restaurant also serves great regional cuisine in addition to Italian specialties.

Breakfast options include continental and à la carte. Your tea, coffee or porridge can be served with snacks or fruits.
